Bug Reporting

Casual Pro Wrestling is a video game. Video games are software. Software contains bugs. That's the story. You may have encountered a more or less annoying bug. Unless it's already in the list of Known Bugs below, please report it!

How bad is it?

I broadly distinguish between two types of bugs in order of priority:

  1. Show Stoppers absolutely don't allow you to play any further. For example, the game simply crashes, freezes, or maybe a wrestler gets stuck somewhere and can't get out anymore.
  2. Bugs are situations where things happen that probably shouldn't, but allow the game to continue (even if maybe at a disadvantage for somebody).

Where to Report

Please report bugs in either of these channels:

I prefer Discord because it allows you to send me your logfile (see below) in private.

How to Report

Please describe what happened in a way that I can sit down and follow your steps to get the same result (reproduce the bug). It's very simple: if I cannot reproduce a bug or otherwise pin down exactly its cause, I can hardly fix it.

It is good practice to attach the logfile as described below.

Logfile

I may ask for your game's logfile if you didn't attach it anyways. In that case, reproduce the bug like you described it, close the game, and look in one of the following places depending on your operating system.

Operating System Location
Windows %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\pdinklag\Casual Pro Wrestling\
Linux ~/.config/unity3d/pdinklag/Casual Pro Wrestling/

The file I need is called Player.log (Windows users may see just Player in the file explorer).

⚠ If you start the game again inbetween your bug report and sending me the logfile, the information I need may be gone because the logfile has been overwritten.

ℹ Near the beginning, the logfile contains information about your hardware and also your username on your computer. Feel free to remove your username or hardware information using any text editor if you do not wish to disclose it.

Known Bugs

These bugs are known to exist, please don't report them again. If you feel that something should be fixed faster, it is OK to bump them in the channels listed in Where to Report.

  • Input: Steam Input can cause the game to believe that you have two controllers connected even though you only have one. There is currently no known fix for this other than disabling Steam Input. It should be disabled by default, but if it is enabled for you (e.g., globally), you can disable it in by right-clicking Casual Pro Wrestling in your Steam Library, go into Properties, into the Controller menu and choose Disable Steam Input in the top right dropdown menu.
  • Input: Due to a Unity limitation, only up to 4 controllers are currently supported for Couch Multiplayer.
  • Physics: There's a huge variety of possible Ragdoll Glitches.

Ragdoll Glitches

Ragdolls are simulated by a physics engine that trades off accuracy versus performance in a way where things may not be realistic at all. This a known general issue where collisions can look a bit weird, single limbs can get stuck in thin objects (e.g., barricades) or entire ragdolls may lifted up by wrestlers who are not ragdolling. Typically, these do not affect gameplay in a bad way but are rather fun to watch and laugh at.

In rare occasions, when the ring gets very crowded, ragdolls may happen to be lifted or even launched over the top rope, which may result in an elimination in a battle royal. That's unfortunate, and I will try to come up with solutions in the future, but right now this is something we have to learn to live with.
